Kerns asks Ant-Man if he can be his partner but Pym declines, telling the agent he already has a partner. Ant-Man calls FBI agent Lee Kerns and tells him that the situation is over and the alien has been defeated. With the criminal from Kosmos gone, Ant-Man and the Wasp return home.
With the help of his ant army, Ant-Man fires several shells into the alien dispersing it. With compound created from the formula, Ant-Man places the compound in several shot gun shells.
Ant-Man discovers the solution and he and the Wasp go to the base and concoct a formula that will break down the formic acid the intergalactic criminal is composed of. Janet admits that she is in love with Henry, but he dismisses it because of her age and his fear that he will lose her and have a second tragedy in his love life.Įven with Ant-Man and the Wasp, the United States military, and Ant-Man’s ant army, they are unable to slow down the Kosmosian. Now officially Ant-Man and the Wasp, together the pair travel to where the criminal from Kosmos is raging havoc. Janet arrives at Pym’s lab and he reveals to her that he is Ant-Man and that he would like Janet to become his sidekick, the Wasp! Janet accepts, and Pym goes about creating wasp wings and antenna she can use when she is exposed to Pym’s shrinking gas. The ants are afraid of the acidic substance. As Ant-Man makes his way to his lab, his ant friends tell him that they have found large traces of an alien formic acid. Ant-Man tells Jane to report her father’s death to FBI agent, Lee Kerns, and come to Dr. van Dyne has died from of an immense bout of fear. Henry changes into his Ant-Man identity and races to the van Dynes’ house. Pym hangs up on her, thinking the young lady is simply being ditzy but his ant friends arrive and inform him that Janet’s father has indeed been killed by the intergalactic criminal. Later Janet stumbles across her father’s body, and in the midst of fear and grief calls Henry.
His device brings an escaped criminal from the planet Kosmos, and using its power proceeds to murder Dr. Later in the day, Vernon decides to test the device to make sure his invention works, and it does with fatal consequences. Pym does not have enough interest in the device and decide to move on elsewhere. Henry find the invention to be ingenious, but as biologist not an astronomer he has little to add. Vernon has come to visit Henry to show him his new Gamma Ray Beam device which he believes will allow him to contact beings from another galaxy. Janet also disregards any feelings or attractions for Henry, as she believes the stereotype that scientists are boring. Henry immediately notices that young Janet looks very similar to Maria, but dismisses the thought as she is younger and has a ditzy personality. Vernon van Dyne and his daughter Janet have come to speak with him. Realizing that he needs a partner to fight crime, Henry decides to build a wasp suit based on its unique abilities and biology. Henry thought of Maria’s uncle’s favorite quote, “Go to the ants, thou sluggard!” and used it to create his Ant-Man persona. The American embassy had him released and sent back the states. Leaving the embassy, Henry attempted to track down Maria’s killers but ended up in jail. The diplomats there informed him that Maria has been murdered as a message to those thinking about escaping the Iron Curtain. When Henry awoke, he found himself in the United States Embassy. Upon landing in the Soviet Block nation, Maria was captured by armed men and Henry was knocked out with the butt of one their rifles. Against his fears of having his wife return to her native country considering her history, the pair travelled to Hungary for their honeymoon. He had to been married to Maria, a former political prisoner from Hungary. Henry Pym reflects on the loneliness of his life.
